Ultimate Health was founded in Burbank in 1989 as a medical exercise facility. Our prescriptive exercise programs have been the referral choice of many physicians, chiropractics, and orthopedists. It is out of our rehabilitation programs that our personal training business developed as many of our patients chose to continue to improve their fitness and well being beyond medical necessity.

In 1992 Ultimate Health relocated in the Los Angeles/Hollywood, CA area near Universal City and a short drive from Studio City and Toluca Lake.

No two people's bodies are exactly the same, so why should your workout be? Drawing from our therapeutic exercise experience we have developed some of the most comprehensive and broad spectrum fitness workout programs catering to specific needs and tastes. Specializing in weight loss and total body conditioning utilizing our multi-phase Ultimate Health Diet and our FASST-R exercise system (functional activity speed and strength trained resistance).


Our system is designed to give you faster results with no plateaus utilizing weights, kickboxing, resistance bands, body weight exercises, Pilates, suspension and micro burst training in an ever evolving high intensity format.

If you have been doing the same exact workout for more than a few weeks, then your results are already stagnating. Give us a try and we'll get you back on track fast. Our system is tailored to you, your needs and abilities.  Nutritional guidance is included free of charge in all of our exercise programs.

FORM - FOLLOWS - FUNCTION

Whether you want to improve fitness, lose weight, tone-up, build-up, rehab a sports injury, stop chronic pain, shape-up for a wedding or need postpartum reconditioning our personal trainers have the right exercise program for you. Scheduled appointments and one-on-one attention are always the rule. We have the expertise you want and the experience you deserve.

We offer 1/2 hr and 1 hr workout sessions. Showers, lockers, towels and toiletries are provided for your convenience. Free parking in our lot.

Training

Working-out with a personal trainer can help you achieve your goals sooner, safer and generally with better results than exercising alone at home or at the gym. A comprehensive exercise program such as Pilates or weight training can ward off or reverse type 2 diabetes, increase bone density, improve proprioception (balance function), decrease fat, increase muscle mass, increase VO2 max index (cardiovascular function), and even elevate mood levels. Whatever your reason for commencing a fitness program all of these and more benefits are yours to realize when you visit our Los Angeles/Hollywood office.

Evaluation

On your first visit our personal trainers will complete a health history, exercise history, goal profile, strength test, flexibility evaluation, posture exam, and if you wish: weight, tape measurements, and body fat test.

FASST-R

Functional activity speed and strength trained resistance. This is our proprietary system designed for the fastest weight loss, muscle hardening and total body conditioning. This is everything plus the kitchen sink. No two workouts the same, no plateaus, no bull.

Weight Training

Using free weights and machines, our personal trainers incorporate various protocols depending on the desired goal such as: circuit training, burnouts, supersets, super slows, and pyramids. Mixing these techniques at appropriate intervals can keep the results coming. 

 

Pilates

Many of our clients have realized excellent results from this system of Eastern and Western exercise techniques created 80 years ago by Joseph Pilates. Pilates focus on movement, alignment, and efficiency will strengthen without bulking, tone and tighten without binding . Our "Reformer" workouts can improve posture, muscle tone, flexibility, and core strength all with seemingly immediate results.

 

Kick Boxing

Taught as a one on one boot camp this is one intense whole body conditioning program. Not only will you learn and utilize real technique, but it will be done at an ever increasing pace. Punching, kicking, medicine balls, stability balls, lunges, squats, push -ups, heavy bags, focus mitts, double ended bags -- get the idea? The confidence boost is free.

 

 

Stretching

All of our programs leave room for comprehensive stretching routine. Flexibility must balance with stability. We will use active, passive, static, dynamic, and PnF stretching to enhance your flexibility.

 

 

 

 

 

Burst Training

Studies show that high intensity exercise burns up to 3 times as much fat as more moderate exercise. Our head trainer has designed a program to take full advantage of this using short duration explosive movement techniques on heavy bags, sprinters drills, and track and cycle sprints for upper and lower body.

 

 

Athletes

Functional training is the best way to enhance sports performance. Weight lifting or a running routine alone do not increase dynamic sport specific strength. A boxer shouldn't train like a tennis player and a golfer shouldn't train like a baseball player. Different sports require different strengths and abilities and therefore different training. Whereas weight lifting and running can give you some crossover benefit, refined ability 
necessitates the use of dynamic movement in the proper plane motion for each sport. Strength, speed of movement, alignment, balance, flexibility and coordination are all components of athleticism.

There are never any crowds, waiting for equipment or difficulty finding parking at Ultimate Health. We have a completely controlled environment where you may come, play your own music if you wish and exercise in privacy. We are a by appointment only service. Free parking.

Frankly the best way to see if a fitness trainer is the right fit for you is to give them a try. We are happy to offer a complementary first 1 hour session to help you do just that. Claim your session by filling out the contact page at the bottom of the scroll or simply give us a call. As we value full disclosure you see a list of all of our rates below. Free trial session is not valid with any other offers. One time per client.

Home Training Rates

Home and office based training rates are location dependent considering travel time and parking fees. Please call for your rates. 

All workout plans include our multi-phase diet, nutritional guidance and computerized body composition analysis. All plans are good for 1 year from purchase.

Referrals

If you know of someone who can benefit from our excellent service offer them a free trial session and if they enroll we will give you a finders fee of between $75 - $100 depending on the package plan purchased. Good for you, good for them.

You do not need to be a member to participate. Use a contact form to send us your name and contact info and the name of your referral. You will receive a finder's fee 7-14 days after enrollment, per referral.
